Tom and Judy (Osborn) Gross were high school
sweethearts. Having met in the band, they have been married 40 years. They
both grew up in Washington, graduated from the schools here, and then Judy
followed Tom to Bluffton College where they both also graduated a year
apart from each other.
Tom graduated from the Univ.of Ill. Medical School in Chicago and now
works full time doing high-risk obstetrics in Peoria. Judy taught art and
2nd grade until they began their family, which includes daughter, Beth Ann
and her husband, Bart Wyss, who live in
Greenwood, IN; son Matthew and his
wife, Haley and granddaughter Anna Elizabeth, 18 mo., who live in
Wisconsin. They are also expecting a brother for Anna any day now. Their
youngest son, Joshua, is presently in Houston, TX.
After living in IL, KY, and OH, Tom and Judy moved to Peoria in 1986 to be closer to their parents, and moved back to
Washington in 2003 after
finding a historic house of their dreams. They love being back in
Washington and have really gotten into Washington history, which led to the
purchase of the Denhart Bank building.
The last two years have been spent lovingly restoring the Denhart Bank
on the square and two adjacent buildings, as well as doing all the work to
have it put on the National Register of Historic Places. Judy has fulfilled
a longtime dream of being an innkeeper and both she and Tom look forward to
serving you at The Cornerstone Inn.
3 John 5 says "do faithfully whatever you do for friends, even though
they are strangers to you." Their hope is that even though you are
strangers when you come, you will leave as friends and return often!
